Unto the end, for the hidden things of the Son. A psalm for David.

confitebor Domino in toto corde meo narrabo omnia mirabilia tua
confitebor tibi Domine in toto corde meo narrabo omnia mirabilia tua
I will give praise to thee, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will relate all thy wonders.
|
| 3 |
laetabor et gaudebo in te canam nomini tuo Altissimi
laetabor et exultabo in te psallam nomini tuo Altissime
I will be glad, and rejoice in thee: I will sing to thy name, O thou most high.
|
| 4 |
cum ceciderint inimici mei retrorsum et corruerint et perierint a facie tua
in convertendo inimicum meum retrorsum infirmabuntur et peribunt a facie tua
When my enemy shall be turned back: they shall be weakened, and perish before thy face.
|
| 5 |
fecisti enim iudicium meum et causam meam sedisti super solium iudex iustitiae
quoniam fecisti iudicium meum et causam meam sedisti super thronum qui iudicas iustitiam
For thou hast maintained my judgment and my cause: thou hast sat on the throne, who judgest justice.
|

increpuisti gentes periit impius nomen eorum delisti in sempiternum et iugiter
increpasti gentes et; periit impius nomen eorum delisti in aeternum et in saeculum saeculi;
Thou hast rebuked the Gentiles, and the wicked one hath perished; thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

conpletae sunt solitudines in finem et civitates subvertisti periit memoria eorum cum ipsis
inimici defecerunt frameae in finem et civitates destruxisti periit memoria eorum cum sonitu
The swords of the enemy have failed unto the end: and their cities thou hast destroyed. Their memory hath perished with a noise:

Dominus autem in sempiternum sedebit stabilivit ad iudicandum solium suum
et Dominus in aeternum permanet paravit in iudicio thronum suum
But the Lord remaineth for ever. He hath prepared his throne in judgment:

et ipse iudicat orbem in iustitia iudicat populos in aequitatibus
et ipse iudicabit orbem terrae in aequitate iudicabit populos in iustitia
And he shall judge the world in equity, he shall judge the people in justice.
|

et erit Dominus elevatio oppresso elevatio oportuna in angustia
et factus est Dominus refugium pauperi adiutor in oportunitatibus in tribulatione
And the Lord is become a refuge for the poor: a helper in due time in tribulation.
|
| 11 |
et confident in te qui noverunt nomen tuum quoniam non dereliquisti quaerentes te Domine
et sperent in te qui noverunt nomen tuum quoniam non dereliquisti quaerentes te Domine
And let them trust in thee who know thy name: for thou hast not forsaken them that seek thee, O Lord.

cantate Domino habitatori Sion adnuntiate in populis commutationes eius
psallite Domino qui habitat in Sion adnuntiate inter gentes studia eius
Sing ye to the Lord, who dwelleth in Sion: declare his ways among the Gentiles:

quoniam quaerens sanguinem eorum recordatus est nec oblitus est clamoris pauperum
quoniam requirens sanguinem eorum recordatus est non est oblitus clamorem pauperum
For requiring their blood, he hath remembered them: he hath not forgotten the cry of the poor.

misertus est mei Dominus vidit adflictionem meam ex inimicis meis
miserere mei Domine vide humilitatem meam de inimicis meis
Have mercy on me, O Lord: see my humiliation which I suffer from my enemies.
|
| 15 |
qui exaltat me de portis mortis ut narrem omnes laudes tuas in portis filiae Sion
qui exaltas me de portis mortis ut adnuntiem omnes laudationes tuas in portis filiae Sion
Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death, that I may declare all thy praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.

exultabo in salutari tuo demersae sunt gentes in interitu quem fecerunt in rete quod absconderant captus est pes eorum
exultabo in salutari tuo infixae sunt gentes in interitu quem fecerunt in laqueo isto quem absconderunt conprehensus est pes eorum
I will rejoice in thy salvation: the Gentiles have stuck fast in the destruction which they prepared. Their foot hath been taken in the very snare which they hid.

agnitus est Dominus iudicium faciens in opere manuum suarum corruit impius sonitu sempiterno
cognoscitur Dominus iudicia faciens in operibus manuum suarum conprehensus est peccator canticum diapsalmatis
The Lord shall be known when he executeth judgments: the sinner hath been caught in the works of his own hands.

convertantur impii in infernum omnes gentes quae oblitae sunt Deum
convertantur peccatores in infernum omnes gentes quae obliviscuntur Deum
The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God.
|
| 19 |
quoniam non in aeternum oblivioni erit pauper expectatio pauperum non peribit in perpetuum
quoniam non in finem oblivio erit pauperis patientia pauperum non peribit in finem
For the poor man shall not be forgotten to the end: the patience of the poor shall not perish for ever.
|
| 20 |
surge Domine non confortetur homo iudicentur gentes ante faciem tuam
exsurge Domine non confortetur homo iudicentur gentes in conspectu tuo
Arise, O Lord, let not man be strengthened: let the Gentiles be judged in thy sight.
|
| 21 |
pone Domine terrorem eis sciant gentes homines se esse semper
constitue Domine legislatorem super eos sciant gentes quoniam homines sunt diapsalma
Appoint, O Lord, a lawgiver over them: that the Gentiles may know themselves to be but men.
|
| 22 |
quare Domine stas a longe dispicis in temporibus angustiae
ut quid Domine recessisti longe dispicis in oportunitatibus in tribulatione
Why, O Lord, hast thou retired afar off? why dost thou slight us in our wants, in the time of trouble?
|
| 23 |
in superbia impii ardet pauper capiantur in sceleribus quae cogitaverunt
dum superbit impius incenditur pauper conprehenduntur in consiliis quibus cogitant
Whilst the wicked man is proud, the poor is set on fire: they are caught in the counsels which they devise.
|
| 24 |
quia laudavit impius desiderium animae suae et avarus adplaudens sibi
quoniam laudatur peccator in desideriis animae suae et iniquus benedicitur
For the sinner is praised in the desires of his soul: and the unjust man is blessed.
|
| 25 |
blasphemavit Dominum impius secundum altitudinem furoris sui non requiret
exacerbavit Dominum peccator secundum multitudinem irae suae non quaeret
The sinner hath provoked the Lord, according to the multitude of his wrath, he will not seek him:

nec est Deus in omnibus cogitationibus eius parturiunt viae eius in omni tempore longe sunt iudicia tua a facie eius omnes inimicos suos dispicit
non est Deus in conspectu eius inquinatae sunt viae illius in omni tempore auferuntur iudicia tua a facie eius omnium inimicorum suorum dominabitur
God is not before his eyes: his ways are filthy at all times. Thy judgments are removed form his sight: he shall rule over all his enemies.

loquitur in corde suo non movebor in generatione et generatione ero sine malo
dixit enim in corde suo non movebor a generatione in generationem sine malo
For he hath said in his heart: I shall not be moved from generation to generation, and shall be without evil.
|

maledictione os eius plenum est et dolis et avaritia sub lingua eius dolor et iniquitas
cuius maledictione os plenum est et amaritudine et dolo sub lingua eius labor et dolor
His mouth is full of cursing, and of bitterness, and of deceit: under his tongue are labour and sorrow.

sedet insidians iuxta vestibula in absconditis ut interficiat innocentem
sedet in insidiis cum divitibus in occultis ut interficiat innocentem
He sitteth in ambush with the rich, in private places, that he may kill the innocent.
|
| 30 |
oculi eius robustos tuos circumspiciunt insidiatur in abscondito quasi leo in cubili insidiatur ut rapiat pauperem rapiet pauperem cum adtraxerit eum ad rete suum
oculi eius in pauperem respiciunt insidiatur in abscondito quasi leo in spelunca sua insidiatur ut rapiat pauperem rapere pauperem dum adtrahit eum
His eyes are upon the poor man: he lieth in wait, in secret, like a lion in his den. He lieth in ambush, that he may catch the poor man: so catch the poor, whilst he draweth him to him.

et confractum subiciet et inruet viribus suis valenter
in laqueo suo humiliabit eum inclinabit se et cadet cum dominatus fuerit pauperum
In his net he will bring him down, he will crouch and fall, when he shall have power over the poor.
|
| 32 |
dixit in corde suo oblitus est Deus abscondit faciem suam non respiciet in perpetuum
dixit enim in corde suo oblitus est Deus avertit faciem suam ne videat in finem
For he hath said in his heart: God hath forgotten, he hath turned away his face, not to see to the end.

surge Domine Deus leva manum tuam noli oblivisci pauperum
exsurge Domine Deus exaltetur manus tua ne obliviscaris pauperum
Arise, O Lord God, let thy hand be exalted: forget not the poor.
|

quare blasphemat impius Deum dicens in corde suo quod non requirat
propter quid inritavit impius Deum dixit enim in corde suo non requiret
Wherefore hath the wicked provoked God? for he hath said in his heart: He will not require it.
|
| 35 |
vides quia tu laborem et furorem respicis ut detur in manu tua tibi relinquuntur fortes tui pupillo tu es factus adiutor
vides quoniam tu laborem et dolorem consideras ut tradas eos in manus tuas tibi derelictus est pauper orfano tu eras adiutor
Thou seest it, for thou considerest labour and sorrow: that thou mayst deliver them into thy hands. To thee is the poor man left: thou wilt be a helper to the orphan.

contere brachium impii et maligni quaeres impietatem eius et non invenies
contere brachium peccatoris et maligni quaeretur peccatum illius et non invenietur
Break thou the arm of the sinner and of the malignant: his sin shall be sought, and shall not be found.
|

Dominus rex saeculi et aeternitatis perierunt gentes de terra eius
Dominus regnabit in aeternum et in saeculum saeculi; peribitis gentes de terra illius
The Lord shall reign to eternity, yea, for ever and ever: ye Gentiles shall perish from his land.
|
| 38 |
desiderium pauperum audit Dominus praeparasti ut cor eorum audiat auris tua
desiderium pauperum exaudivit Dominus praeparationem cordis eorum audivit auris tua
The Lord hath heard the desire of the poor: thy ear hath heard the preparation of their heart.
|
| 39 |
ut iudices pupillum et oppressum et nequaquam ultra superbiat homo de terra
iudicare pupillo et humili ut non adponat ultra magnificare se homo super terram
To judge for the fatherless and for the humble, that man may no more presume to magnify himself upon earth.
